Coronation Street is set to be very emotional next week as young Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) prepares to say goodbye to his mother Natasha (Rachel Leskovac) after her tragic death.

Last week, a second tragedy took place on the cobblestones after the death of Johnny Connor, while Natasha also did not survive after being shot by drug dealer Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

Harvey was actually trying to kill Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), but due to the two women wearing the same Halloween costume, he ended up shooting Natasha and left her to fight for his life.

Sadly, Natasha did not survive urgent surgery and passed away, leaving young Sam absolutely devastated.

New ITV spoilers reveal his funeral will take place next Monday, and as cars pull up on the street, Sam slides his hand into that of his father Nick Tilsley – who squeezes it tightly while Audrey, David and Shona stare at the broken heart.

After the funeral is over, the mourners gather in the bistro to say goodbye to Natasha and Sam silently hands Nick (Ben Price) a piece of paper he wrote a eulogy on for his mother.

But as Nick reads it, he struggles to contain his emotions – leaving everyone with a tear in their eye, too.

The next day, Nick and his partner Leanne agree that it’s time to seek professional help for Sam.

After a zoomed-in date with Sam, Dr Gaddas confirms that she is referring him to mental health services for talk therapy.

Later that week, Nick and Leanne ask Simon to take care of Sam, but when he does his best to persuade Sam to leave his room, he fails.

Leanne decides to try to do the same and talks to Sam through the locked bedroom door, telling him that she understands his pain but that as a member of her family, she just wants to help him.

Will young Sam soften up to Leanne? And will Leanne be ready to take on the role of stepmom after the devastating loss of her own young son Oliver?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on ITV.
